A Thank You

I was worrying yesterday. Actually, I worry a lot. Yesterday I was worrying about the business. Starting this business has been more involved than I ever imagined it would be. It has had more ups and downs than I imagined and more hurdles than I imagined as well. When I look around it seems that I'm finding many other people doing the same thing who are obviously more established and experienced than I am. "Looking around" in comparison to others like that gets very overwhelming very quickly. I'm sure you can relate.

Then I heard these words......

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle." Psalm 103:2-5
Those words gave me peace. It doesn't really matter what else is out there to compare ourselves to, because there is always someone or something out there who appears to have it better or do it better. When He focuses on me, He sees nothing else.

These words also made me think of the incredible men, women and children who we are helping support through this business. It is so encouraging to me that their lives of torture, great pain and hopelessness can be redeemed. It brings peace to think that their youth can be/will be renewed - that their years of entrapment can be given back to them in a sense. Supporting a delicate fortress helps encourage them to keep on pressing on when they are discouraged and worried and feeling helpless and hopeless. It gives them a sense of pride and dignity when they create things that other people love. Don't we all want to feel like we're contributing?

I want to thank you for supporting them today. Although you may not see it first hand, you are making a difference!
