Today I wanted to share with you 2 books I've read that I believe are a great start to learning about slavery and all it's forms including forced prostitution, human trafficking, forced slavery and child exploitation. I highly recommend these books.
Not For Sale is a great first book to read. David Batstone discusses each of these issues in a genuine manner, revealing actual stories of survivors and the people who have helped them. At the end of the book he lists many ways to get involved and support different organizations who are making a huge difference in the lives of these survivors.
I am currently reading this book and it is also excellent to provide information on the different types of slavery that exist and how individuals become part of this. He discusses in greater detail the reasons behind slavery and how governments and individuals keep it going. This book does talk about some real life stories, but it is mainly informational. If you want an in depth look at slavery in all its, this is a great book.
I have read other books as well, but these two books are the ones I recommend the most because they will not only inform you about the issues of slavery and human trafficking but will inspire you to act against them.
